Day 37. I haven’t paid much attention to the Daily Prompt the past few days. I’ve read plenty of posts by others, which seemed to have taken up a lot of my time (not that that’s a bad thing), but I hadn’t felt the inclination to participate. Oh, but that changed.
Take today’s prompt…
“It’s never a good idea to discuss religion or politics with people you don’t really know.” Agree or disagree?
It’s one of those double-edged questions, where you’re damned if you do or damned if you don’t, reminding me of the first line of the poem by Mary Howitt ‘will you walk into my parlour? Said the spider to the fly’. However, I’m a little more cunning than the said spider. The web may look pretty and intricately woven and the words carefully written to draw me in, but this is one fly who isn’t blinded by its hidden purpose. ‘Oh no,’ said I, ‘you can’t ensnare me that easily.’

I like that spider and fly story.
I remembered the poem from when I was little and I loved it then. 🙂
Is it safer to discuss religions and politics with people you don’t know rather than people you do as relationships won’t get in the way of a fine heated debate?? 😉
Nope, not gonna go there. 😉
