Oh, the bitterness of life since the catastrophe…
Are you ready to join Blogdramedy (our illustrious leader, the brains behind BlogFestivus) and my fellow passengers aboard the Joy Train. Then bring on day four. 😉
**EPIC DISCLAIMER**
Okay folks, hold on to your pants, this one is definitely not pretty. Contains scenes only suitable for adults, please do not let your children read this. No, honestly. I wouldn’t read it, and I’m not a child, so… hey, why not check out the others! (You’ll find their links at the end of this post). But before you do, maybe you’d like to take a quick look, a tiny peek if you can manage it.
Day 4. Three blocks down, on the corner of Holly and Ivy, I found Vixen turning tricks for peppermint hay. She looked haggard, jittering from Cranberry withdrawal. How did I know? The tell-tale red puncture marks on her bare antlers.
She had finished with her last Tom for the day. I followed her to a rundown block of flats at the end of Fairy Lane, snuck up the stairs behind her and watched as she entered her flat. I gave her time to settle and remove her Red Mac before pushing the buzzer. A tinny version of ‘jingle bells’ started up and I smirked.
Within seconds, I heard her hooves scrapping on the other side of the door and then it opened. A black eye peered through the crack, I waved the vial of Cranberry I had bought earlier, knowing she would let me in, knowing she would do anything for a fix.
Vixen didn’t disappoint, and I walked in to the stinking pit, which she called home. She closed the door and scuttled after me, desperate to get high.
‘Look, before I give you this, tell me, was it you who killed Santa?’ I felt like a dealer, but hey, needs must.
She nodded her head, snatched the vial, filled a syringe and groaned as the cranberry hit her veins. ‘I just needed… to be… loved. That’s all,’ she moaned, and slid into a drug-fuelled stupor.
Would I ever find the truth?

Thank you, I’m pleased you like it. 🙂 I’ve tried to include any connection with Christmas possible, in a round-about way, of course. 🙂
We’re seeing the seamy side of the pole with these vignettes. Love it!
Ya know your disclaimers just make me want to read the story more, right?
And I’m not disappointed!
Ah, the evils of cranberry…
I’m starting to get a “Murder on the Orient Express” sort of feeling about this!
