As you can see, I’ve added another new category: ‘Poems & Stuff’. I’ve removed Sunday 7 Somethings because it didn’t seem to be working, plus my enthusiasm was lacking. I hope you like the new addition, and please enjoy the first post.

Creation of Life by Sarah Neeve 1998

Spring unfolds,

bringing dew-dampened grass

and misty mornings.

When swans glide

with their cygnets following closely,

leaving only a faint ripple

as they make their way

slowly, but gracefully up-stream.

Flowers pierce their heads

through the cold earth.

On the trees the first buds appear

and birds sing their chorus

for the coming of the dawn.

In a barn,

the first rays of light

break through the cracks

to rest upon a newborn calf.

Its mother cleaning and caring

while it suckles

sets a scene of pure serenity.

The birth of everything imaginable

is taking place all around.

The beauty of Spring.

All these things

are the true meaning

of such a miraculous season.

Life.

The wonders of creation.

Spring already, do you live in another time zone maybe 🙂
    Particularly like the beginning of the poem;
    “Spring unfolds,
    bringing dew-dampened grass
    and misty mornings.” Great!

Mmm. And the smell of lilacs!

    • sarahneeve says:

Lilacs, I remember a game we used to play as children, where we’d pick a lilac leaf, mark on the leaf the boy we liked and would then place it next to our hearts and wished they’d like us back.
The weird things I did as a child. 😉

I love this and am so looking forward to Spring
