Saturday: 9
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!
Day 40. Saturday 9: Bette Davis Eyes
1) Has anyone ever told you that you resemble a celebrity?
If they had graced me with such an accolade, I never heard them! But if they did, I would tell them they needed to visit the opticians. And quick!
2) Is there an actress or actor whose movies you make it a point to see?
I don’t go to the movies that often. Too much paper rustling, talking and backs of seats kicking. And that’s just my husband! No, I prefer to wait for the DVD and watch in the comfort and quiet of my home.
In respect to the question, no. But I do collect DVD’s which star Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis and Hugh Jackman in them. Plus some extras I’m not going to divulge. 😉
3) We’re stopping for refreshments before we go in to see the movie. What’s your refreshment stand order?
Really! Did you not read my answer to question 2? Okay, if you insist. The last time I frequented a cinema, I purchased a Diet Tango and a small salted popcorn. There, are you satisfied.
4) When did you last consume an alcoholic beverage? What was it?
Hm? Let me think… oh yeah. Tuesday night. Vodka and Ginger Ale. Yum.
5) Are you jumpy? Do you startle easily?
Not usually, although my family do try. However, last night we were watching ‘The Grey’ staring Liam Neeson, and at one point in the movie, one of the survivors jumped awake, making a loud snorting sound. Millie (my cat) jumped, which in turn caused me to jump. My husband found it hilarious, of course.
6) Do you wear a watch?
Only when I venture out. I’d be lost without it.
7) When was the last time you tried a new restaurant?
Eat out, are you crazy! Why would we need a restaurant when we have such an excellent chef at home. That’s me by the way. No seriously, we only go to restaurants when its someone’s birthday or anniversary, so the last time was… June last year, our friends 25th Wedding Anniversay. Oh, and it was a new restaurant called Fusion, a mix of chinese, Thai, Malaysian and japanese food. Quite yummy.
8) What color is your wallet?
Navy blue, with a picture of Tigger as an angel and the words, ‘if in doubt… wing it’. Yes, I know, childish. But I received it as a gift a few years ago from a colleague at work. Besides, I like Tigger, you got a problem with that.
9) How much does it have in coins right now?
68 cent. A quarter. 20 pence. A little leprechaun and 4 baby seashells. Weird combination I know, but for some reason, I still have leftovers from my last trips abroad. I keep the leprechaun in there for good luck. Not that it’s done any good! The seashells, well they’re just pretty, and small, and cute.
(I did have pictures for Q8 and 9, but the stupid Media upload wouldn’t let me upload. What the feck, WordPress!)
A few fellow Saturday 9er’s:
Tiggers are wonderful things, as the song goes. I think your wallet sounds great.
They certainly are! Just a shame I couldn’t post the picture. 😦
I don’t cook.. Will you teach me to? My hubs is a great chef though but he still want me to cook.
Oh no, let your hubbie keep doing it. I sometimes wish mine could cook, but that’s just wishful thinking. 😉
What did you think of The Grey? And did you watch the bonus after the credits? I missed it – didn’t know it was there until after I’d returned it. I do like a Liam Neeson movie…
I thought it was good, except the ending. I would’ve drunk the contents of the bottles first before smashing them. 😉 And we didn’t rent it, it was on TV, so I didn’t know there was more. Damn it. 🙂
I love the quote on your wallet. What a nifty thing to have available to look at when things are questionable and going rough, a great reminder! I’ve recently taken to having only meals at home instead of going out once in a while like we used to, but that’s mainly because of the cold/flu season.
Thank you for linking my blog here! 🙂
😀
Interesting…I’ve been told I’m like Lynda Bellingham and sound like Stephanie Beacham!! What can I say? More gravy? 😉
I’ve been told (by my husband) I sound like a cow. Go figure. 😉 And I love gravy. 🙂
Ah! And how did you respond? Perhaps…”I’m not sure I herd you right…. are you talking bull sh*t?” 😉
Gravy’s good!
Well, he calls me cow often enough. 😉 In a nice way, of course.
My wallet isn’t kid-ish, but my messenger bag has Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony on it. I don’t think there’s any reason to give up the “childhood” things we love.
Couldn’t agree with you more. Loving your bag by the way. 😉
Ohhh Hugh Jackman, yes he’s a good one.
Oh yes, totally agree. 😉
Do you come up with these questions or are they from the audience?
They’re from the host, Sam, of Saturday: 9. 🙂
Oh, I knew that. I’ll look into that. Do you have a link?
Click on the pink Saturday: 9 box on the right of any one of my pages, that will take you to Sam’s site. If it doesn’t work, let me know. 😉
Ok. Thanks!
Aw- thanks for the shout out!
I like Tigger’s philosophy.
Enjoy your Saturday1
Thank you. I’ll have to say enjoy your Sunday, though. 🙂
Kind people say I resemble Anthony Edwards, the less kind gravitate to say I look like Homer Simpson. D’oh!
Okay, so I know who Homer Simpson is, but Anthony Edwards? Well, I’m sure they mean well regardless. 😉
