What I wouldn't give for a strong drink right now!

What I wouldn’t give for a strong drink right now!

Just to let you know, I’m useless when it comes to technology. No. I am. I can get by with the basics in a… well it looks as though I know what I’m doing… kind of way. But I’m totally stumped with this one issue that I’ve been trying to work out. So, if there’s anyone out there who can help me, here’s the problem.

I’ve been trying to set up different pages so that I can separate my posts, but each time I go to publish them, they end up on the Daily Posts page and not where I want them to be (I’m pulling hair here people!). But no matter what I do, I end up exactly in the same spot.

What am I doing wrong! Why won’t the damn things stay put! Are there really Gremlins inside my laptop? Because I’m beginning to wonder if those films have a point! Okay, I might be losing the plot a little and it’s probably going to be a simple fix I’ve completely overlooked. But if you could find it in your hearts to help a poor, technophobic idiot, I’d really appreciate it. Maybe a cupcake would help seal the deal? Hhmm… Well, an imaginary one, anyway.

  1. Wish I could help sarah. I not too technical either.

The main daily post page is the page that holds them all. If you have different categories you want displayed, you can make a new menu that will put a specific category on your menu bar. Check out my page and let me know if that’s what you mean. All my posts go on my main page though. You may need a paid subscription to change that.

Thanks for that, I’ll take a look after I’ve posted my daily prompt. 🙂

    • sarahneeve says:

Yep, I’ve taken a look and that’s exactly what I mean. But when I try and add posts to another page, they only end up on my daily posts!!??
Shit, I’m crap at this. 🙂

      • UndercoverL says:

Okay, what you do is go to your dashboard and click on “Appearance” and go to “Menus.” From there, you can create a new menu that you can customize. You can choose what pages to put on your menu. You can also choose which categories you want to put on there. All of your posts will show up on your main page still, but when you click on the tabs in your menu, you will get to see only the posts in those categories. Once you’ve decided which pages and categories to put on your menu, click “Save Menu” and then on the upper left hand corner, highlight the menu you want to apply to your page. Hope that helps! 🙂

Thanks for that, I’ll give a try in the morning when my head’s where it should be. 😉

You can leave a comment if you like. I don't mind.
